Design Options for
Wood Windows & Doors

Every window and door is made to order in our LA workshop, so you choose each detail.

What design choices do I make for custom wood windows?

Six: the window style, the wood species, the glass, the grid pattern, the sticking profile and the hardware. We walk you through each one, recommend what suits your home, and show every choice on shop drawings before we build.

Matched to your home

Every option is chosen for the house it goes on, checked against the codes it has to meet, and signed off by you before we cut any wood.

Historic homes

In an HPOZ or a historic district, replacement windows usually have to match the originals.

  • Grids and profiles matched from photos
  • True divided lites where the board requires them
  • Drawings ready for design review

Energy code

Glass is chosen to meet California’s Title 24 for your project, so your plans pass plan check.

  • Low-E coating chosen for each side of the house
  • Double-pane insulated glass
  • U-factor and SHGC listed on your drawings
